B&G rooms are widely known for their spacious and open living setup, each with their own hand basin and walk-in wardrobe. Every room has its own central heating setup a well as large open windows which allow for good amounts of sunlight and airflow.

Bathroom facilities are single sex, and are cleaned on a daily basis.

Each room comes equipped with a desk and lamp, bookcase, bed and bedside table, chair, shelved walk in wardrobe, telephone (with answering service), InternetBGroomconnection and heater. Some residents like to have a small fridge in their room for convenience.

Residents need to provide their own sheets, pillow, pillowcase, doona and towel. A pack containing all of the above is available from the office for a fee of $135.

Security is provided by magnetic door keys, which are individually coded. In addition, two external doors using a swipe card lock secure each residential block.

Central Heating

Each room is centrally heated during the colder months of April to approximately November. The radiator can be adjusted (or turned off) by the resident. Due to fire regulations and to protect from power overloads, residents are not allowed to use any other type of heater. Infringement of this rule may result in disciplinary action.

Bathrooms

There are two toilet and shower blocks on each floor (one male and one female). Each bathroom contains three toilets, and generally three showers except on the bottom floor of each block in which two showers are replaced by a dual shower/bath. The bathrooms also contain a hand basin, liquid soap and hand towels.

Utility Room

On each floor there is a room containing an iron and ironing board, communal fridge and clothes line. Each floor’s utility room is only accessible by residents of that floor.
